San Antonio has so many neat places to explore. From one-of-a-kind events to the best restaurants & attraction's. We spent 3 days during mid-January visiting and exploring the town.

San Antonio is well known for it's rich Native American history through due to the Texas Revolution. The city is known for being the most fought-over city in North America, being the battleground for the Battle of the Alamo

WHERE WE STAYED:

We stayed at the Westin Riverwalk, San Antonio.

It was located on the Riverwalk in the quiet end near the Pearl District. It was conveniently located by many downtown restaurants, bars, shopping and entertainment. We spent most of our three days walking around and exploring via the Riverwalk.

They have pet-friendly hotel rooms and all rooms feature pillow-top mattresses, marble bathrooms and room service.

Our room had a private balcony, with beautiful Riverwalk views.

The outdoor heated pool is located rooftop next to the 24-hour fitness studio.

Parking- they offer valet parking and also have a ramp directly across from the hotel for self parking.

The Artisan village is listed on the U.S. government's National Register of Historic Places, featuring architectural styles that range from adobe structures, to early Victorian and Texas vernacular limestone buildings. La Villita had over 25 shops and galleries that showcase local handmade goods and hosts over 200 events a year.

Carriage ride - We did an evening horse carriage ride. It was a great way to see the downtown area and plus learn more about the history in San Antonio.

No reservations are required! On most days, the carriages line up on the streets surrounding Alamo Plaza and wait for people to approach them to ride.  The cost is $25 per person who is riding. Children generally ride for free.
