Pigeon Forge, a mountain town and vacation area in eastern Tennessee, is the home of Dollywood! This is a great place for a family vacation. There is plenty of attractions to keep your entire family entertained.

We stayed a Marriott vacation home. It was located just outside of Dollywood.
A mom and her cubs were in the woods right by our cabin.

Dollywood - MUST DO!! This is such a fun amusement park. They have a beautiful resort located right by the park.

The Island in Pigeon Forge - The Island in Pigeon Forge is free to visit. This is a great, affordable area for family fun night and day. They have the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel, a 200-foot-high observation wheel. They have lots of shops, restaurants and lots of fun activities throughout the day and night.
Free Admission • Free Parking • Pet Friendly They also offer accommodations at two places to stay, Margaritaville Island Hotel & Margaritaville Island Inn.
Great Smokey Moutains - They are the most visited
national park. World renowned for the beauty of the ancient mountains & wildlife, including white-tailed deer, black bears, turkeys, raccoons and other animals. Lots of hiking spots, scenic drives and camping is available. The park doesn't have a fee to enter.
Newfound Gap Road - Also known as US-441, is the most iconic scenic drive in the Smoky Mountains.
Cades Cove Loop - This is the most popular driving road in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
The scenic, 11-mile loop road takes you through Cades Cove, a historic community in the Smoky Mountains that's surrounded by stunning mountain peaks.
Clingman's Dome Road - If you want to drive through high elevation areas of the national park, the Clingman's Dome Road is a must-visit destination. This popular drive begins at the Newfound Gap parking area. The highest peak in the Smokies at an elevation of 6,644 Ft. It's the highest road in the Smokies, with the most impressive viewa of the Smoky Mountains. Along the way, there are several pull-offs that feature gorgeous mountain views. You can also access the Appalachian Trail as it nears the summit of Clingman's Dome.
At the end of the road, you can access the 0.5-mile Clingman's Dome Trail that leads to a 54-ft observation tower on the mountain's summit. At the top, you'll be treated to stunning, panoramic views from the highest peak in the Smokies.
The Foothills Parkway - Foothills Parkway stretches 17 miles from Walland, TN to Lake Chilhowee. This road is not technically inside the Great Smoky Mountains, it is maintained by the national park service.
TIP - Many of these roads are curvy and have low speed limits, use extreme caution on these scenic roads.

WHERE WE ATE & DRANK:
Mellow Mushroom - This was one of the best pizzas places we've ever been to. The staff was great, the restaurant had indoor and outdoor seating & the pizzas was phenomenal.
Paula Dean's Kitchen - Hearty Southern cuisine served in a laid-back adorable restaurant. All food is served and shared. Visit the cute gift shop downstairs.
Family Style Dinning
Mill Bridge Winery - Located in the Old Mill Historic District of Pigeon Forge. Grab a glass of wine or a cider flight and relax on there outdoor patio overlooking the Little Pigeon River.
Old Forge Distillery - They offer flavored spirits, tastings & have a cute gift shop in an old farm supply store.
