Galveston is a charming island city on the Gulf Coast of Texas! Full of historic architecture, sandy shores, restaurants, and unique places to stay.

WHERE WE STAYED:

We stayed at the Grand Galvez! It’s an AAA 4-Diamond exquisite hotel on the Texas gulf coast. Grab a drink or dinner at their upscale restaurant.

Founders Bar: Elegant, romantic vibe but energized lobby bar a menu full of specialty drinks and DJ-selected music.

1911 Espresso Bar: A gorgeous space to grab a cup of coffee or tea & relax.

Monarch Dining: They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Chef inspired and gourmet.

Guest Rooms: Tranquil & luxurious, with some rooms having breathtaking views of the gulf.

Pool w/Swim Up Bar: It’s surrounded by tropical palm trees, lounges and semi-private cabanas.

Modern • Sophisticated • Stylish

The hotel has absolutely everything you’ll need to make your visit memorable.

THINGS WE DID:

Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier - The pier has 1 roller coaster, 15 rides, carnival games, souvenir shops & dining.

The Seawall - This was built after the Galveston hurricane of 1900 for protection from future hurricanes. The seawall is over 10 miles long and rises to 17 feet above sea level, the historic Seawall is the longest continuous sidewalk in the US. It's the perfect spot to walk or bike.

The Strand - This is the heart of the island and a great place to shop, dine and be entertained. There's lots of history here.

Moody Gardens - They have lush tropical gardens, wildlife exhibits, and many attractions. The pyramids are well known as the entertainment area of the city for all ages.

WHERE WE ATE:

Tequila Rock & Cantina - Well decorated & clean restaurant, located in historic downtown. They offer amazing Mexican food and margaritas.

Steak Fajitas

The Sunflower Bakery & Cafe - This was one of our breakfast destinations in Galveston. This is a busy place to have a very nice breakfast. Cruise ship passengers were in town waiting to board, so it was very busy. We got seated after a short wait. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Our food was very good. Both of our dishes were excellent. We highly recommend stopping if you want breakfast or lunch.

Huevos Rancheros and Challah French Toast

Patty Cakes Bakery - Charming bakery located in a historic building. They have a variety of breads & baked goods.

Petit Four Cake - Vanilla & Almond

Longboard - Great location along the seawall. Full bar and menu are available. We stopped in for an appetizer and drink while we were out for a walk.

Bloody Mary & Capese Flatbread

Monarch - This is located inside the Grand Galvez. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. They food was delicious.

They have Oyster Bar within the restaurant provides freshly shucked oysters on select days of the week.

Donut Palace - We stumbled upon this place on our way out of town at 4:30 am. I'm so glad we stopped, amazing breakfast sandwiches and friendly staff.
