Corpus Christi is a Texas city on the Gulf of Mexico. It’s tucked into a bay and its beaches are sheltered by Padre and Mustang islands.
THINGS WE DID:
Cole Park - The waterfront park features a large playground, amphitheater, ample green space for recreational play and a trail for walkers, runners and cyclists. Great area for views of bay & city.
Padre Island National Seashore’s - This area is a national seashore located on Padre Island off the coast of South Texas.
This area has sixty-six miles of wild coastline along the Gulf of Mexico.
Explore some of the more remote areas of the park by driving down the beach.
Calling • Fishing • Beaches
Whitecap Beach - the white sands you'll find on this untouched shore, is an excellent location for small groups or solo travelers. This location is an excellent choice for those looking to escape a busier beach scene. This is a great area for biking, jogging, or walking along the beach.
(The area was under construction while we were there.)
Bob Hall Pier - This pier extends over the Gulf of Mexico & is located within Padre Balli Park in Corpus Christi.
This area was severely damaged in 2020 from Hurricane Hanna and had to be closed. The county is currently in the process of designing it's replacement.
Malaquite Beach - This beach is located between the dunes with full beach access. There are designated paved and gravel camp sites, restrooms, cold water showers, and picnic tables.
Harbor Bridge - The arch bridge that crosses the Corpus Christi Ship Channel, with a modern cable-stayed bridge design.
Blue Ghost - Visit the USS Lexington Museum on the Bay and discover history in real time. Step onto the WWII Aircraft Carrier. If you like history, you'll definitely want to go explore this museum.

WHERE WE ATE AT:
Snoopy’s Pier - This restaurant is located on the pier! They offer waterfront dining and delicious seafood.
TIPS: IMO, I didn't love this area. We felt like it was very rundown and dirty. There is a lot of history here & the beach was nice but other than that I would say just spending a couple hours here is plenty of time. We actually went to our Marriot hotel, checked in and immediately checked out. It was the grossest hotel we've ever booked.
