Our first stop on our road trip was Columbus, Ohio. We spent two nights and explored the city. This is a thriving city known for it's diverse neighborhoods, vibrant arts scene, and friendly community spirit.

WHERE WE STAYED:

We stayed at the Sheraton Suites. It was a great location close to many attractions. Each has suite features modern touches, separate sleeping and sitting rooms. They also have exceptional food and beverage service.

THINGS WE DID:

Bicentennial Park (bridge/city overview) -

MUST SEE: This 4.66-acre park at 233 Civic Center Drive is a downtown destination that features a one-of-a-kind fountain, park restaurant and performance pavilion. It's a great place to relax, walk around and see the beautiful city landscape.

During the summer stop at the Scioto Mile Fountain, splash in the water and stay cool in the summer.

Short North Art District - Known as the art and soul of Columbus, the culturally rich Short North Arts District is a pioneer in the urban revitalization of Central Ohio. This is a great area to eat, shop, drink, visit the art galleries. They have lots of bars & nightlife.

North Market - One of first stops in Columbus was the North Market. The origins of the market date back to 1876. What an amazing place to walk through. There is a wide variety of ethnic foods and many vendors of different products. We sampled a few restaurants and the food was delicious. We wish we could have tried more but were completely stuffed. If you are ever in the area, this is a must try destination.

German & Brewery District - MUST SEE: Just south of downtown Columbus lies German Village, one of the most idyllic neighborhoods in the country. Built by German settlers hundreds of years ago. the area is defined by its brick homes and shops, as well as brick-lined streets. The historic charm and modern tweaks exist side by side here.

The are had many local businesses that include delicious pastry and coffee shops, the truly unique 32-room Book Loft & a free Shakespeare at the neighborhood’s Schiller Park

Hayden Falls Park -

If you happen to be driving through Ohio and get close to the city of Dublin, you should make a quick stop at Hayden Falls. This is a great place to stretch your legs and take in a little scenery. When you find the parking area for the trail, you aren’t very far away from the falls. It’s a short walk on a boardwalk through the forest to the falls. There is plenty of area to take some pictures and enjoy the sound of falling water. Parking is limited, so you may find yourself waiting for a parking spot.

Goodale Park - This is a public park in the Victorian Village area of Columbus, Ohio. It is the oldest park in Columbus and among the oldest in the United States. There is a playground and tennis courts, but the park's main attraction is the view of the Columbus skyline and the serenity offered alongside a scenic pond and the charm of the gazebo and of its historic park shelter. A walk through Goodale Park is a refreshing experience.

The Dublin Link - Pedestrian bridge (NOT in Columbus but located in Dublin, OH) The Dublin Link opened in 2020, it is the longest single tower S-shaped suspension bridge in the world. The town of Dublin has many shops, restaurants and galleries. We would definitely recommend visiting this area.
