Charlotte, North Carolina

Charlotte is the most populous city in the U.S. state of North Carolina, it's known as the "Queen City". It has lots of attractions, restaurants, events & shopping!

The city is great for outdoor recreation, fantastic shopping, superb museums and is the home of the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

They have some really neat wall murals all over the city. This one is located on the far side of Krispy Kreme Donuts.


WHERE WE STAYED:

We stayed at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Charlotte Pinesville. The is hotel off 1-485 lies twelve miles South of Uptown, which was centrally located to all the things we did but, not right in downtown.

THINGS WE DID:

Blue Ridge Mountains - We drove through the mountains coming from Columbus, Ohio to Charlotte, NC. The Blue Ridge Mountains are America's favorite, it's a beautful & scenic drive.


Blue Ridge, segment of the Appalachian Mountains in the United States. The mountains extend southwestward for 615 miles from Carlisle, Pennsylvania, through parts of Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina, to Mount Oglethorpe, Georgia.


Optimist Hall - MUST SEE - Optimist Hall is a food and beverage destination in Charlotte, NC! Home to 25+ food stalls, retailers, and restaurants. Guests can enjoy countless cuisines. This hip site has lots of food & bar stands plus, art, events & indoor-outdoor seating. Pet Friendly in the outdoor areas.


The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery & Biergarten -

Olde Mecklenburg Brewery & Biergarten is located in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is the oldest and biggest craft brewery in that area. We stopped in to try some of their beers and weren’t disappointed. It’s a huge outdoor area, where they serve beer & food. They also have a large indoor area, too.

The Market on 7th - Lively indoor market hosting local shops, bars, bakeries & a variety of counter-serve eateries.


Freedom Park - Gorgeous park, open daily, from 7 AM to 7 PM. Freedom Park is a 98-acre park in Charlotte, North Carolina. The park has paved trails, tennis/volleyball courts, sport/athletic fields and playground equipment.


Romare Bearden Park - Romare Bearden Park is a 5.4-acre public park. The park is named for Charlotte born artist Romare Bearden. It opened in late August 2013. It's a beautiful park with benches, waterfalls, & great view of the city!

TIP - 📸 Perfect spot to take pictures of the cities landscape.

Bao & Broth - Asian street fair favorite - steamed buns and ramen dishes. (Located at Optimist Hall)


Amelia’s French Bakery & Cafe - This eclectic French Bakery & Café offers fresh baked pastries, soups & sandwiches.

Johnny Burrito - MUST GO - Charlotte's #1 BEST burrito!!! Quick-serve lunch counter serving burritos & nacho salads, plus tamales on Tuesdays & Fridays. It has the friendliest owner who took lots of time to visit with us.
